OUR MISSION/FOUNDER

Rev. Dr. S.Jayaraj Krishnan (Pastor Jay) was born in India in 1952, and raised in the Bethel orphanage in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. On leaving high school he studied theology at the South Indian Seminary in Bangarapet, before working as a Pastor in Bombay, where he established 8 churches. In 1984 he went to the Philippines to obtain his M.Div. and an STD, and returned to India to teach as a visiting professor for four years in Bangalore.

Pastor Jay was invited to become a pastor in America, however, he returned to Tamil Nadu in 1988 in order to establish the ICMC in Salem. From being a hostel for 12 children it has grown into an organization with 3 centers which currently house over 2000 boys and girls, providing for all their needs. The ICMC currently employs over 300 staff members from the local community.

Pastor jay in an engaging speaker, who has spoken throughout India as well as in many other Western countries. He is past President of the Rotary Club of Salem, and now lives above the ICMC office with his wife, Christy and their three children, David, Neva and Bright.
